Our Facilities

FlexiChoice is proud to host The BASE, one of the largest disability-focused centres on the Tablelands. Our facility is dedicated to providing a wide range of options designed to assist our service users in achieving their individual goals.

Our centre features a fully equipped kitchen that is frequently utilised for group lunches, with Tuesdays being particularly popular for this communal activity. The BASE offers a variety of engaging activities throughout the week. Among these, our art group, held every Friday, is a massive hit.

We are also home to Piagno Park, an outdoor area that commemorates a beloved participant who has passed away. This park, which combines gardens with recreational spaces, offers a tranquil environment ideal for reflection and relaxation.

FlexiChoice distinguishes itself by offering shared travel arrangements for pre-arranged day trips and events, enhancing accessibility and convenience for our participants.

We take great pride in providing a diverse and inclusive environment that accommodates a wide range of interests, preferences, and abilities among our participants.

Cooking Facilities

Our expansive kitchen area is a highly valued resource among our clients and support workers. The Tuesday Group Lunches, in particular, are a notable highlight, consistently attracting a large attendance. These gatherings offer clients the opportunity to develop and refine their independence through hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking.

Participants are encouraged to engage in various activities, including meal planning, cooking, and serving, which not only fosters their culinary skills but also enhances their proficiency in money management, portion control, and catering. Additionally, these sessions provide a platform for practising essential social skills in a supportive and communal environment.

Arts and Craft

At The BASE, we offer an extensive range of arts and crafts activities, supported by a spacious area equipped with a variety of materials and tools to inspire creativity. Our Friday Art Group, held weekly, is a vibrant and integral part of our program.

Participants engage in diverse art projects, which not only allow for personal expression but also provide opportunities to contribute to our market stall and auctions, where their creations are showcased and sold. This initiative helps to cultivate artistic skills and fosters a sense of achievement and community involvement among our clients.

Sensory Space

Our interactive area provides an excellent environment for both individual and group support. This space is well-appointed with a diverse selection of books, puzzles, games, and activities designed to engage clients and foster meaningful connections. It serves as a valuable resource for building long-lasting relationships among service users, enhancing their social interactions and personal development..

Large Outdoor Areas

Our expansive terrace, situated on the left side of the property, is an ideal venue for hosting outdoor events. This versatile space accommodates a variety of functions, including celebrations such as the Melbourne Cup and St. Patrick's Day, as well as numerous fundraising morning teas. The terrace offers an excellent setting for community gatherings and special occasions, enhancing our ability to support and engage with our service users and the wider community.

Gardening

There is no better place to showcase your green thumb than at our Base. Piagno Park, situated on the exterior of the property, boasts a variety of gardens and a shaded undercover area equipped with interactive games. This well-appointed space offers a vibrant setting for gardening enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills and for all participants to enjoy diverse outdoor activities.

The park’s combination of lush gardens and engaging recreational features provides a stimulating environment that enhances both personal enjoyment and community interaction. In honour of our cherished client, Denis Piagno, Piagno Park has been thoughtfully established as a serene and versatile space. Located at the exterior of The BASE, this park is not only an ideal spot to enjoy the sunshine and create lasting memories but also serves as a dynamic venue for a variety of activities.

The park's well-designed layout supports numerous recreational and social events, including outdoor games, gardening activities, and relaxation sessions. Its tranquil environment enhances the experience of these activities, making it a favoured location for both individual enjoyment and group gatherings.
